I feel like I’m just figuring things out. You’re all teenagers now and I want to be there spending time talking, sharing and just being with you. You’re all doing so well. I am so proud.
I walk in your rooms at night as you sleep so soundly in your cozy well used beds. The feel of peace and contentment knowing all is well permeates your space. Clothes on the floor, books flowing off the shelves and your stuff everywhere. Reminds me of what and who, you have become.

Where have the years gone? Why didn’t I see this coming?
I knew you would all grow up and not need me like you used to. I knew life would change and I wouldn’t be your center anymore. You are so independent and well adjusted. So happy and settled.
I couldn’t ask for anything else. But where do I fit into the plan now? How do I continue to be your mom and stay in the place that I have always been?
These words I write to you. To tell you how much you mean to me and how fulfilled I am to know what I write is so true. It’s just the beginning for you and the rest of your life.
Leah… you are so grown up and mature. Your kindness and concern for those around you is so admirable. I enjoy being with you so much. Cooking and baking as we spend precious time together. You rarely complain when it’s time to do the housework. I notice this and how you love to be around your father and I. You work so hard in school and strive to do your very best. The time you spend completing assignments and studying for tests shows how you pride yourself in a job well done. I am so proud of you and all you accomplish. My hope for you is to become a successful, strong woman who falls completely in love and is cherished and loved right back. I believe in you and know you will succeed. My dear Leah, I love you.
Sam… everyday I watch how you have changed. How you have become such a talented young man. You are amazing Sam and I am so proud of you. You are a wonderful friend so well liked and accepted by your peers. You’ll do anything for your friends. Your teachers have always had such wonderful endearing comments about you. You have had challenges in school which you have overcome. I cherish the memories that I have of you as a child. You were always so happy and easy going. Nothing bothered you and you always had a smile for everyone. I believe you will be just as amazing in your future life. You are focused in your future plans with a confidence that is so evident in all you do. I know you will use your talents and succeed to your fullest potential. I love you Sam.
Ben… I love the way you are so independent and mature. I notice how you treat your friends and I am so proud of your unselfish and giving personality. You are an amazing young man and I have such high hopes for you. You want to be successful and your dreams are so reachable. Ben, I know you will choose a career that shows your strengths and talents. I love when we spend time talking and you tell me about your thoughts, your friends and your feelings. I cherish those moments with you talking and me just listening. I believe in you Ben and I have no doubt that you will become an extremely successful, well adjusted young man. You make me proud Ben. I love you.
Ben, Sam and Leah whenever you need me I will be here for you. I may not have the role that I once had as a mother, always needed and on call, but I think I’m ready for this stage in my life. I know you will all succeed and be the best you can be and I am ready to watch now knowing that it was all worth it.
